1. Kill the supply
Stopcock clockwise until it stops. Kitchen sink cupboard is the usual spot; in older terraces round here try the cellar head or the pavement outside. Seized? Leave it and tell us on the phone.

24/7 emergency call-out
If water’s coming in and you need somebody now, stop reading and ring. We answer the phone at 3am the same way we answer it at 3pm.
Before we arrive
Most of the damage happens in the first twenty minutes. Ring us first, then do these while we’re on our way.

Leaking radiator or heating pipe? Switching the boiler off stops it circulating hot water into the leak and buys you a surprising amount of time.
Water near a socket, downlight or the fuse board is the one genuine danger here. Kill that circuit if you can reach the board safely, and mention it when you ring so we know what we’re walking into.
24 hours a day, seven days a week, all over Sheffield. We’ll tell you honestly how soon we can be there.
What we come out to
Fill this in and we’ll ring straight back. If it’s properly urgent, phone instead — it’s always faster.
Why us at 2am
Out of hours is when people get taken advantage of. Our approach doesn’t change with the clock: look at the job, tell you what it costs, get on with it.
Reviews
Reproduced word for word from customer reviews of Plumber To The Rescue — nothing rewritten, nothing tidied up.
The plumber fixed a leaking trap and shut-off valve underneath my kitchen sink. It was an emergency job and he came straight away at 21:00 in the evening. He was prompt in attending my call and offered a professional service at a fair price. We will definitely be calling plumber to the rescue back again to assist with the installation of our dishwasher.
Had a great experience and would 100% recommend! We had a leak in our washer and a previous leak under the bathroom sink. The team was able to address both issues and also caught a small leak in our washer hose that could have caused problems later. You can tell they put a lot of honesty and care into their work. We’ve had our fair share of bad plumber experiences, but with them, we really appreciated how we were shown the root of each problem and kept informed throughout. They also made sure to test everything multiple times to ensure the issues were fully resolved.

FAQs
Anything where water is escaping and doing damage, where you’ve no water at all, or where you’ve lost heating and hot water in cold weather. Burst pipes, a leak through a ceiling, an overflowing cistern, a toilet that won’t stop filling, a stopcock you can’t turn — all worth ringing about.
Yes. 24 hours a day, seven days a week, bank holidays included. Not an answerphone and not an overflow call centre.
Find the internal stopcock — most often under the kitchen sink, sometimes in a downstairs cupboard, utility room or under the stairs. Turn it clockwise until it stops. In older Sheffield terraces it’s occasionally in a cellar head or outside in the pavement. If you can’t find it or it’s seized, ring us.
Don’t touch anything wet near a socket, light fitting or consumer unit. If it’s safe to reach the consumer unit, switch the affected circuit off. Then ring us, and ring an electrician if anything has actually been soaked.
We’ll tell you the price once we understand the job and before we start work, out of hours included. You won’t get a surprise figure at the end of a bad night.
